Design Philosophy

Products don’t exist in isolation. The way they’re designed, described and presented should all come from the same underlying idea. When those elements drift apart, brands become less distinctive and communication becomes less convincing. This is where we work.

Together, we help companies define, refine or rediscover the thinking behind their products. Sometimes that means developing a product philosophy from the beginning. More often, it means looking at something that already exists with fresh eyes and asking whether it still reflects what the company wants to stand for.

How we work

Our backgrounds are different but complementary. Dirk come from product design, with experience in translating ideas into physical products and collections. Brendaa is a senior copywriter with years of experience shaping language in the cultural field. Together, we examine products, communication and brand identity as parts of the same conversation. We’re not interested in inventing a story that sits on top of a product. We’d rather uncover what is already there, question what isn’t working and strengthen what deserves more attention. That often means asking difficult questions. Not to complicate things, but to simplify them.

It’s to help uncover the qualities that already make it worth paying attention to, and to express those qualities with greater precision.
